Biography

Tao is a doctoral researcher at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), working under the supervision of Prof Constantinos Antoniou and the co-supervision of Prof Panagiotis Angeloudis at Imperial College London. He started his PhD in February 2024 as part of the Autonomous Transport for Harmonised Low-Carbon Operations and Sustainability (ATHLOS) project. His primary research interest lies in spatio-temporal neural networks for transportation prediction tasks across multiple scales.

Tao received his bachelor’s degree in Road, Bridge and River-crossing Engineering, with a specialisation in Highway Engineering, from Chang’an University in China, and his master’s degree in Transportation Systems from TUM. His master’s thesis, on the siting of urban air mobility systems in multimodal transportation networks, received the ITS Bavaria Best Thesis Award in 2024.
