Elias Nassif

Biography

Elias is a doctoral researcher at the Transport Systems and Logistics Laboratory within the Centre for Transport Studies at Imperial College London. His PhD research focuses on the safety of autonomous driving systems. His areas of interest include engineering safety by design, scenario-based testing, in-use monitoring, and regulatory compliance of autonomous vehicles. Elias is co-supervised by Dr Panagiotis Angeloudis, Prof Washington Ochieng, and Prof Mohammed Quddus.

In addition to his academic work, Elias is a Safety Data Manager at Oxa, a global leader in self-driving software. Elias focuses on refining metrics and methodologies to ensure the safety of Oxa’s systems. He previously managed the AI practice at Capita, a major service contributor to the UK Government.

Elias holds a Master’s degree in Transport from Imperial College London and UCL (joint MSc) and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the American University of Beirut.
